Kelly Jordan, owner and creative director, has been an educator for over 30 years, and a dancer for nearly 50. She specializes in Ballet and Pointe, Modern, Jazz, Lyrical and Tap. She is a former competitior who has had choreography accolades both regionally and nationally, and has trained dozens of dancers who have also received both regional and national recognition on the competition circuit. Ms Kelly places a strong emphasis on the “education” part of her dancer’s studies, including anatomy and history as key elements of the classes she teaches.
She also holds certifications for several training methods, specializing in PreSchool Dance Curriculum and Teaching, as these small friends hold a special place in her heart. A college-educated, homeschool mom for 10+ years, she and her husband of 25+ years have raised 3 children, including the studio’s first member of the USA Tap Team.
Meredith Dulak was our first student back in 2006, and danced with us for 15 years before graduating high school to attend Elms College where she earned a Masters Degree in Business. While a student dancer, Miss Meredith was an active member of our Competition Team, placing in the overalls and winning at both regional and national events numerous times. She is returning for her 5th year as our Certified Acrobatic Arts instructor and continues to choreograph for our current Competition Team in addition to running our recreational program.
Olivia Brown is a former Gotta Dance student of 12 years before graduating and then attending Roger Williams University where she earned her Masters Degree in Business. While attending, Olivia participated as a member, an officer, choreographer, and captain for the RWU Hawkettes from 2019-2023. She is also a former award-winning competitor and has studied hiphop with John Barella as training to share her love of the style with our dancers. Returning for her 3rd year with us, Miss Olivia also teaches Contemporary and choreographs for both our Competition and Performance Teams.
Laura Tompkins has served as our studio secretary and administrative assistant for 10 years. While not a trained dancer, Laura can be caught busting the occasional move and she loves being a part of our dance family. If you're lucky, you may find her behind the desk in our lobby helping out with all the behind-the-scenes work.
Miss Laura is a fantastic problem-solver and our go-to for all registration, scheduling, and billing inquiries. Even when not on-site in the studio, Miss Laura is a readily available resource via both our studio email and on the Band app.
Alice Peabody joins our staff for our 20th season after dancing at Gotta Dance for 15 years, and competing for 9 years, with Tap as her favorite style. She is also a former student and competitor (NYCDA, OnStage) for Kym Nash of
Farmington Dance. Promoted from Assistant to Student Teacher in 2022, Alice helped with our junior tap classes, as well as contributing with choreography for both tap groups and solos. Her self-choreographed routines have earned numerous awards including Highest Overall Event Score and Title.
A homeschool graduate with a part time job, Alice attends Holyoke Community College full time pursuing a degree in “Child & Family Studies”. Alice was the 2024 Hope Diamond recipient and was a Diamond Dance Ambassador for 2 years, coordinating and running community service projects like hygiene and breakfast drives to benefit Palmer Food Share. She has been an active member of several pre-professional/professional dance groups including The Boston Tap Company (being the youngest invitee at just 10 years old, and performing alongside Sean Fielder at The Strand Theatre’s 100th Anniversary), #taplifetoo (performing on the deck of the USS Intrepid in NYC as part of Fleet
Week), Connecticut Tap Collaborative, and Aaron Tolson’s Speaking in Taps. As a 6 year member of SIT, she has performed regionally, at Disney Springs, and as part of the inaugural Tap Day Celebration at Aaron Tolson’s Institute of Dance at Saint Anselm College. She is currently a dance captain for Speaking in Taps as well.
In her pursuit of a career in dance, Alice attends training programs both near and far including NYCDA (Convention and Summer Scholarship Recipient, 2 consecutive years) and Riff Dallas. She attended a weeklong intensive in Colorado, The Woodshed Experience, under the mentorship of Derrick Grant in July 2024. Alice also annually attends The Boston Tap Party since she was just 10 years old.
Alice is a regional and national title winner many times over and has been an improv challenge winner on numerous occasions too. She has been a convention assistant to Kelly Kaleta (WIDC) and was chosen to assist at both Accelerate (as recipient of Technical Excellence Award) and Dynamic Performance Challenge (as director’s choice DPC Icon) for the 2024-25 season. She considers her greatest honor and accomplishment, however, to have been chosen to
represent the United States at the IDO World Tap Championship in Prague in October 2024 as a member of the USA Tap Team where she was awarded a silver medal.
